Why There is Dispute about God’s Word

The word of God sometimes is not as hard to understand as we make it to be. I think one of the reasons there is a lot of debate or dispute about the Bible is because everybody has a different belief. Man created a lot of different religions instead of sticking with God’s word and they lean into their own understanding. For example, the Bible says that Elijah went to heaven on a chariot. Man will say he didn’t with the word heaven written right in front of him. He’ll try to get rid of the word heaven or give it a whole new meaning. I believe that’s what the confusion is. People go behind each other and believe the wrong thing instead of reading and studying.

Gen. 6:2 is a very disputed verse. When the Bible mentioned sons of God, some people can’t believe that they were angels. The words sons of God did sometimes mean Angels in the Bible. To me, if the sons of God were men in this verse, I believe the writer simply would have mentioned men. Some of the Angels did rebel against God and did other things against him according to the Bible. From my understanding, Angels were not meant to have wives which makes me believe they did look upon the daughters of men and took them as wives. I’m only saying what it means to me when I read. Someone else may think it means something else.

The Bible is not as hard to understand as we make it to be. That does not mean we will understand everything and that we will always be right. However, God gave us common sense and all that we don’t understand, we should go to him for the understanding.
